OBJECTIVE

To test the efficiency of an herbal preparation of a mixture of 3 brazilian plants (CHAM3) on HIV+ patients.

METHOD

ð Open trial (trial duration 9.23 months)
ð 12 brazilian HIV patients (5 ARC and 7AIDS)
ð 1992 - 1995
ð posology: 100 ml 3 times a day of CHAM3 solution (about 1g/l of plant extract).

RESULTS

ð Drastic improvement of clinical and biological parameters for all patients
ð No opportunistic infection
ð No side effects

CONCLUSION

Cham3 appears to be an efficient agent in HIV infected brazilians patients, particularly in the more depressed ones. A similar investigation is in progress in Europe, in order to confirm or infirm these results.
