La
Comedia launches a new program
for the promotion of jazz in live.
La Comedia is a theatre
house technically able to host performances ranging from
drama to live music.
One of its managers, Renato Ribeiro, has decided to launch,
along with Jazz Passion (www.positifs.org/jazz-passion), low fee jazz concerts*.
They will be run
every fortnight, beginning on friday the 15th of
november 2002, then on friday the 29th of
november
and on wednesday the 18th of
december.
On friday the 14th of
february
2003, on friday the 28th of
february, on friday the 14th of
march,
on thursday
the 27th of March, on friday the
11th of April, on friday the
9th of May, on thursday
the 22th of May ...
Renowned artists as well
as new comers will be scheduled.
Each concert will be
followed by a jazz musical program (a datebase of more than
20.000 records is available).
Each night will be
organized as follows:
- gates opened
at 8.30 pm,
- concert at 9 pm,
- musical program from 11 pm to 2 am.

** Renato Ribeiro
is available for any contact with musicians.
Musicians will get a 30% rate over the entrances with a 120
euros minimum guaranted per musician (on the basis of a
trio).
Musicians may
decide to offer their fee (or part of it) to POSITIFS (whose
web site houses Jazz-Passion web site), an organization
raising funds for it's Urgent Help Fund (" Fond d'Aide
Rapide " / FAR) to help AIDS victims in social precarity due
to their illness.
